Christmas Market Day Tour Itineraries
Nuremberg Christmas Market Day Tour
8.30 am - 7:00 pm / 10.5 hours
You are picked up at your Munich hotel, and we head north to Bavaria’s second largest city, Nürnberg (Nuremberg). Indeed, the Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt is likely the most famous in all of Germany – so much so that Nürnberg is called "Christmas City". But before heading to the Christmas market there will be time for a bit of culture and food. We will take short tour of this historically important city, often called the “unofficial capital” of the Holy Roman Empire. Among the highlights are the Imperial Castle and the old fortifications that still surround much of the city.
Then you will have some free time for lunch, shopping or to visit one of the many interesting museums Nürnberg has to offer – including what may be the world’s best toy museum. Afterwards we will head over to the Christkindlesmarkt, where you will have plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere, try some internationally famous Nürnberger Lebkuchen, or try a mug of flaming punch at the world’s largest Feuerzangenbowle.
In the early evening we head back to your Munich hotel or pick-up point.

Rothenburg Christmas Market Day Tour
8:30 am - 7:30 pm / 11 hours
You are picked up at your Munich hotel, and go northwest to the Romantic Road and Dinkelsbühl, a fully walled city that is still a normal functioning town. After a short coffee break there we head to the pristine medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where you will feel like you just jumped back in time to the 16th century. Completely surrounded by medieval ramparts with countless towers, Rothenburg is famous for its ancient houses, fountains, hidden corners and street signs. Also famous for the Meistertrunk, in which – according to legend – the Burgereister saved the town by emptying a 6-pint tankard in one single draught.
In winter, however, the tradition is Glühwein, or hot mulled wine. And what a better place to enjoy this specialty than the enchanting atmosphere of the Reitlersmarkt. This Christmas market dates all the way back to the 15th century. Many consider the Reitlersmarkt to be the mother of all Christmas markets.
You will have plenty of time to enjoy this unique market at this special time of year before we head back to your Munich hotel or pick-up point.
