Château d'Amboise The Château was begunin the 11th century Its position gives it control over the Loire River. Château d'Amboise was a favourite of French kings. Leonardo da Vinci is believed to be buried in the castle chapel. Leonardo lived nearby at Manor Clos-Lucé in later years. The manor displays models of da Vinci's designs.
